She Speaks is a lyrically explosive MC& poet hailing from Ohio, the heart of the Midwest. The artist formally known as Miss Behavin', has been writing and setting stages ablaze since her early elementary years. After much success in oratorical contests and Talent shows as a youth, she adopted the name "Miss Behavin", a moniker chosen with help of the famous quote "Well-behaved omen rarely make history", performing under that name until 2010. A spoken word artist, lyricist, communication professional, public speaker, a young lady with unimaginable stage presence-- all of these descriptions led to the new name "She Speaks" short for 'SheSpeaksKnowledge'. Born in the 80's and raised in the 90's, She Speaks credits the likes of Maya Angelou, Lauryn Hill, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Missy Elliott, Da Brat, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott & Infamous Syndicate for influencing her poetic writing style and inspiring her to be a female MC. She was recently voted Best Hip Hop Artist of Toledo, by way of The Toledo City Paper for 2019 and 2020. With a Runner up win in 2021 she set up a big comeback win for 2022 and 2023. Having engaged in many performance opportunities, artist collaborations and placements as she prepared herself for her long anticipated Debut LP "The Last Lady Lyricist."
