What is RX27?
Hey its been a while....Use Once & Destroy is what the Los Angeles gothcore glam punk death rock band Rx27 has been up to since the release of its debut record Love Sex and Death in 2020. Quite a title for their 6 song debut. You ain't seen nothing yet.
Welcome to the end of the world 2022. You are either woke broke or can't take a joke. Rx27 is as real as you can get. A writer once said they are house band for the apocalypse. Now they are back to watch all burn down and release some new music in September 2022 to a trauma filled world in crisis. Use Once & Destroy is the four song ep that stretches the boundaries of goth and punk. With song titles such as Me Against the World, Chasing Light, Call of the Void and Modern Love Modern War. The band has pushed themselves musically as well as lyrically to captured the feelings of isolation, alienation and desperation. While having the never ending faith of risking it all for what you desire and stand for. They unapologetically dare to dream and bring those dreams to life, despite the outcome or court of public opinion. To risk is not only the reward, it is a way of life for these artists. To abandon hope and rely solely on the faith of one’s own destiny.
The duality of vocals styles by Joie Blaney and Maxine Marti illustrate the masculine/feminine, sane/insane or good/evil emotions of each poetic word that brings depth and character to every song. Bassist Thad Coleman and Mike Benigno hold down the rhythm section as well as push and pull the world out from under each musical passage. Guitarist Nick Demopoulos plays no guitar solos but iconic signature parts seldom heard in todays music. They look and sound dangerous. They will rip the heart off your sleeve. You will know every word and every turn of phrase in every song. You can't deny the truth when it comes to their sound. They don't care if you like it, you won't be able to ignore the realness and honesty of the lyrics and the power and energy they create in under four minutes. Produced by hardcore veteran Billy Bio of Biohazard fame he enabled the band to be heavier without losing that cultivated Rx27 sound. Bringing the punk goth style into more of a gothcore deathrock orchestrated sonic boom. Mixed by Pete Mills (The Sweet Kill) he brings the recordings to life in a cohesive work of art instead of dialing up the flavor of the week plug in or generic sound.
Use Once & Destroy is not only four songs. It is a way of life in a world where living is a terminal disease. It is more about the spirit and soul overriding fear and common sense. To truly care with purpose and passion about what you love when nobody else does. And to not only live in the moment but to understand that forever is the moment you are in and you may never get that chance again.

Rx27 Makes Incredible Debut With The Impactful Single -Buzzmusic
One Life to live.. No fucks to give. That’s the attitude of Los Angeles Gothcore Glampunk Death rock band Rx27 have now matured into since releasing its last fistful of songs in 2020. Now they have followed it up with a four song ep entitled Use Once & Destroy. The first single Me Against the world is a dark song about questioning everything and everyone in a world going up in flames. You’re either a victim, villain or volunteer. Rx27 are none of the above. The press has called them “the house band for the apocalypse”. You can call them your new favorite band if you want. But nobody can call these artists anything but too good to be true. Come see for yourself..

Me Against the World is the first single off the new ep entitled Use Once & Destroy by goth punk band Rx27. It kicks right off with a lonely guitar crying out like an ex lover begging for a second chance. Then the slow burn and haunting voice of female vocalist Maxine Marti answers the siren call of sorrow. Suddenly, boom it's off to the races on a rollercoaster of gothcore death rock. The production is big and in your face courtesy of producer Billy Bio of Biohazard fame. Thad Coleman punches you in the chest with his bass as drummer Mike Benigno follows suit. As guitarist Nick Demopoulos lays the multi tracked guitar parts orchestrating chaos and disorder. The last 2 years have been hellish in the world of the male vocalist Joie Blaney as he spits the lyrics out with nihilistic sarcasm “Hey it’s been a while Met the new messiah City is in flames City is on fire”. Seems like the great American loner has been alone too long. He is then joined by Maxine again echoing those sentiments in unison. The chemistry and nuances of both these singers voices brings out the bad meets evil in the delivery of lyrics. The lyrics penned by Blaney captures the raw deal of life. Finding out who you can trust and who had the knife in your back. The chorus is a call and response to disorder and lost hope. “Me against the World Hold me til its quite Me against the World Make it all go silent." The american dream is officially missing in action and no one cares according to this band. All your friends are dead or they stopped living. Now there are only followers because everyone seems lost or part of the evil empire of corporations. There is no love only likes and they are used as status or currency. It’s a sing along chorus that digs in your head and refuses to leave. You will hate to love it and never forget it. The odd are finally getting even in this story. It’s not a poor me pour me a drink song. It’s about still having faith and loyalty in a world that isn’t and probably never be again. It’s not a song for the victim, underdog or the misfit. It’s a song for the warrior soul that lives and dies for who they are and what they stand for. Life will beat you down. And you have two choices. Stay down or burn it down. The choices is yours.
Some are born to live. Some are born to die.

Nothing in this life is forever. From the day we are born the death clock is ticking. Everything has an expiration date. The only place one does not expire is in the memories of those who know us love us and experience this thing called life with. Rx27 have brought that sentiment to life with their pair of singles entitled Song of Sorrow and Song of Sorrow xy.
Each track has a different feel all to their very own. The Song of Sorrow xy is the Rx27 we all know and love. Singers Ms Maxine Murrderr an Joie Blaney swap lines in the songs like two old war buddies missing each other after the war has gone on too long. Their voices compliment each other with the soaring chorus and tales of loss and longing. Survivors guilt and the missing of those who no longer can be with us on this mortal coil is surely to chill the bones of the non believers of life after life. Rikk Agnew from Christian death have joined in on this track once again as he connects the emotional dots line for line with these two singers. Bassist Thad Coleman holds down the foundation with his strong goth punk melodic playing as he and man of mystery The Dust Warrior gives a lot of musical runway for the singers to take flight. Ms Murrderr who is a top notch violinist has brought her instrument along to add more flavor to the song as well as the haunting piano provided by punk rock legend and producer Paul Roessler. The added instrumentation on this track only show how much this band really love writing songs. And vocally this is a stand out performance by Murrderr and Blaney. They have pushed each other’s voice to the brink of tears as they deliver such lines that are more of a punch in the gut than a pat on the shoulder. “I am where you don’t want to be walking among these city streets. Everything reminds me of you everything reminds me of me.” This lyric poses the question of does the death miss the living? Are they as sad and woeful as the people they leave behind? This is a full on line for line duet as each one of the singers are communicating beyond the grave. The lyrics written by Joie Blaney who always reaches down deep for finding the right words that bring a flood of emotions. And Maxine sings them like she wrote them.
Death is never an easy topic to sing about. But the perspective of the songs shows two sides of that coin. The one died and the one who lived. What happens when we die? Is there a heaven or a hell? Do we become angels or forever Damned?Nobody truly know or understands what happens. All we know is that it happens.
Song of Sorrow has an additional track with Maxine taking a back up singer roles as the writer Joie of the song let’s loose all the pain anger and questions in his vocals. A man showing the most sensitive side of himself and the vulnerabilities of a heart that may never recover from such a tragic loss. As you will see in the not yet released video there is a method to the marketing madness why Rx27 have gone this way with the song. Always looking for new inventive ways to get their art out to the masses.
Both versions of Song of Sorrow have a deeper meaning. Don’t take for granted that we get to do things in this life with people who mean the most to us. Life is a gift or curse for some. Life is not fair. Life is what happens between birth and death. You are here for a reason. You must find your reason and your purpose. Like comedian Bill Hicks says in one of his routines it’s just a ride. It’s not real. Nothing is permanent but change and your perspective and perception of your ride. Your journey into the great unknown. To live with purpose and intention makes this ride better for you and others like you. Rx27 have written and released some great music in the last year among the most trying times some of us will ever have to face. This band is important. They are smart as well as talented. Giving the listener some insight through their songs. The soundtrack to the apocalypse. They told us to fuck forever, have a hell of a time. They invited us to sick city, doused us in gasoline and witness a murder ballad. All in the sake of chasing the muse and making art the way they want to. Now with their new single Song of Sorrow it all makes sense. If you found this band you were suppose to. Bands like this don’t come around too often. They make you think and feel and magnify the world around them. The world that surrounds you is yours. It’s your ride. So let’s get in the car crank the radio up loud and drive down the road. In the eyes of the mirror you will be forever young. And if you ever forget. Rx27 are always near by to remind you of it.

The band that turned you on, told you to fuck forever, took you to sick city and showed you a hell of a time are back with a song for lovers who can’t stand love. They are breaking and taking on all of life’s mysteries of the four letter word with their new single morbidly titled Murder Ballad. Everyone is a sucker for love. Everybody wants to have somebody to love or have somebody to love them. . You know all the sappy songs you have listened to help heal your broken heart. Once is never enough or maybe it’s too much. Second and third chances are give only to be disappointed. Time and tears are wasted as we wait for the one to get their act together. Twin flames and soul mates are the great destroyers of infinite possibilities of a happily ever after.
As the world dies screaming, we are locked away at home in front of the tv, we get to examine our lives. We can’t run from it with the rat race of the day to day. Questions never answered now have a chance to be. It’s time to reflect and face the dark night of the soul. Where did we go wrong in life or did we ever get it right. Loneliness and isolation are the silent killer. The hopelessness and desperation of dying alone plagued this world as death seems more of a constant reality in these last couple of months. Walking down memory lane as society rewrites it’s history is a dangerous game to play. To rationalize love gone bad just bring more bad love. Reasons, excuses and denial trick our minds to think it wasn’t that bad. But our hearts know better. To find your other half is what life isn't all about. Prince Charming will never come along and princesses only live in a far off land of imagination. To find that one person who will love you forever and a day is a series of failures and painful goodbyes. Every relationship is destined to fail until you find that one person you accept as is and they do the same for you. Perfect people are perfect prisons and love is meant to set you free. Not tie you down to fears and insecurities of another.
In the new single by the lonesome crew known as Rx27 they know how ya feel. They are the band that you have fallen in love with since you first heard them back when you first heard their critically acclaimed first single gasoline. To call a love song or a break up song Murder Ballad poses so many questions that may be answered in their newest single. This song takes you through the true to life details and stages of who broke who? And how to walk out with your head held high as your heart swings low. First lines in songs always say so much. Murder ballad kicks off with the cutting vocals of Rx27 evil twin Joie X Blaney singing “Goodbye my darling goodbye. The choice was yours to let it die.Placing full responsibility on on his significant other to call it a day on this torturous love affair. Without missing a beat Ms Maxine Marti echoes the sentiment with the lyrics inspired by greatest love story ever told “Like Romeo and Juliet a love story without regret Goodbye my darling goodbye” We all know what happens next. We think but can only imagine. As a listener you are a fly on the wall as these two singers invite you for the recreation of the scenario each of these two sensitive artist experienced as love dies a painful death. Some fall hard, some fall fast in the beginning. The slow death of heartbreak takes you to hell and feels like it gonna leave you there.
The attitude, the vulnerability and emotional mood swing of these singers resonates as each line is delivered. They seem to be channeling the scaring moments of the breakup to end all breakups. These two are all heart. In this day and age there is a rockstar persona or an alter ego to create the larger that life icon. Joie and Maxine are the real deal. This is not an act or shtick. This is the guts and gore of artists doing what they do best. Through out history of Rx27 they release their music as a single work of art. Music videos, lyric video and even merch shows how creative these guys and gal can get. It’s also an amazing business model and marketing strategy that hasn’t been done yet. Expect the idea to be ripped off by some pop tart or flavor of the week label band. Rx27 set trend and the bar high as they give you glimpse into the hearts and minds of these artists. Real people real feelings with real raw emotions. There is no irony here. There is no corporate puppet master or marketing team handling this band. From the iconic photos and artwork to the punk rock realness in interviews. To breathtakingly beauty music videos this band is the band to watch. This is no act. They live and breathe the music they create.
The songs of Rx27 are memorable like your favorite nursery rhyme for troubled children. The chorus in Murder Ballad comes around after rapid fire verses that bring quiet reflection of people, places and rock n roll shows that may want you to try again. But your heart knows better. And sometimes it’s better to put your arms around a memory than it is to continue the charade of make up breakup and shut up and move on. This band can play. These singers can sing. The proof is in every single released by rx27. Its really shows in the energetic bass playing of Thad Coleman. He is the glue that keeps the songs of Rx27 melodic, aggressive and moving. He is the heart of this band. Listen closely as he and honorary member of the band The Dust Warrior race each other to each painful sing along lyric. The band have been on a worldwide search for a guitar player or players that have the same ideals and passion for making music as these three do. There is a surprise guest appearance on lead guitar as Joie X Blaney makes a special appearance on on guitar to nail home the emotional turmoil of saying goodbye farewell good luck.
This is not another song of teenage love gone bad. This is a song for those who have a history together. Or a dream that will many never come true. Be it a marriage, kids or the hope for growing old together. The nightmare of jealousy, insecurity and pettiness kill relationships faster than any virus. And dying alone is what humans run from. Dating for some is a way to escape loneliness and despair. In this world of hurt the ones we love or love the one who can’t love you back is fully realized in this song . So let’s try not to bleed all over each other if it doesn’t work out. Pain becomes your friend in this song. Saying goodbye is better than defending and proving yourself to another day after day. As the song hits its highest point emotionally in the unison lyrics “death to a world gone mad death to a love gone bad” it is the hardest chunk lof truth that seems hard to swallow. You can never forget that love and loss can hurt so much. “I can’t escape that fucked up place you and I once had” Is it punk rock Shakespeare or is it the glaring truth that be it good or bad pain can change a person forever. Ask yourself as you listen to this song of leaving the one you that left you behind. Was it worth it? Would you do it again? Is it better to live with or be the devil you know than the devil you don’t? The wise old saying is home is where the heart is and you can’t go home again has never sounded so true. The real question is why would you want to? The best days are not behind you. If you think they are you might need to re-examine yourself. Your destiny waits for you on the horizon. You can drag your pain with you but you might be better off to save yourself while you can and go find the life and love you heart screams for.
Rx27 is the band you either love or hate. But you can’t ignore. This is the band we need right now. The well-known saying "A coward dies a thousand times, a hero dies but once. There is life after death and the members of Rx27 are not of this world. Either born in the flames of hell or resurrected from the wings of angels their songs will stand the test of time. And in times like these we need something to believe in. So do yourself a favor and believe in the words and music of Rx27. They know the secrets of life and are willing to die to share them with the world. But the world may not be ready for them.
Heaven and hell are states of mind. For some, they are real places. For this Los Angeles, avant-garde, goth punk band—it’s a day to day occurrence. The trials and tribulations of being an artist in a “not-so-artist-friendly” world inspired this tale. If you are going through hell, Rx27 is here to show you the way out is through.
“Dreams begin, and the nightmare unfolds” are opening lyrics from Rx27’s fatal optimist, Joie Blaney. From the start, we’re in for an emotional rollercoaster. There is no intro, no set up. We take one punch to the chest as Blaney pulls on every heart string until the last second.. before they snap. The band’s attitude and raw power shine bright as the song unfolds.Blaney’s lyrics are split between a “magic spell” and “play by play” of visuals of the heart and mind of an artist. About 15 seconds in, hear the siren call of Rx27’s second vocalist, Ms Maxine MurrDerr. She swings in not only to match her counterpart’s emotional intensity; but brings in a unique grace and spirit which adds to the band’s mysterious concoction. The guitar—courtesy of “The Dust Warrior”— paints a musical landscape for these two gifted vocalists to do what they do best. The driving force behind them is bassist Thad Coleman, holding down this sonic backdrop and melodically taking everyone through twists and turns of each musical passage. The lyrics are a painfully honest confession both vocalists see—some “life on life’s terms” situations, and live to tell about it.
RX27 is still asking the eternal question some may have, but may never admit: “Where are you, god?” Either screaming at devils, angels, or the heavens; they’ve found that bad things happen to good people. We all have our own story. We collectively are witnessing a world wide pandemic, claiming thousands of lives. Our world is in a “What now?” state of mind. No going back to normal. Only a new normal.
Midway through the song, we find Ms M. enticing us as she asks to grab her hand, leave it all behind. Here she is to offer us a gift of love and being loved, perhaps? Her voice is gut-wrenchingly beautiful one, where you can hear how strong and vulnerable it becomes on this particular track. Much like the human spirit; it can withstand anything, however..there comes a breaking point. Blaney’s stream of consciousness-type lyrics slowly creep through as he rattles off 2 American icons that have overcome their own adversities. The bottom line is finding a place of “ok”. Is there such a place? RX27 invites you all to come and find them, where ever you are. Do you want to help or be helped? Do you want to be the problem or be the solution?
Rx27 newest single “Hell of a Time” dare all of you to dream. Be ready to deal with what comes along with the dream. Remember, there is a heaven and hell around every corner, in every step. The trick is: keep going.
Rx27 is back once again to tell their tale of life from the underground otherwise known
as sick city
Some are born to live
Some are born to die
Some wish they had a choice.
Rx27 are back and darker than ever
with their new single Welcome to Sick City.
Either sit back and enjoy the ride or get ready to be terrified.
The year is 2020 The family unit has been shattered like your favorite smart phone screen. Mom and dad are either checked out or kids themselves. The youth are smarter and more dangerous than the guns and drugs they have on the street. In today’s world there is a fight to survive the day. One problem, Surviving is not living. It is a step up from dying. Listen closely as you can hear a requiem for the American dream. For some it is just that, a dream or something that has turned into your worst nightmare. The life you have been promised is not guaranteed. Are you alive or just waiting for death to come ? It’s seems happiness, love and success are for other people. The rich, beautiful who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Happiness for some is measured by your credit score bank account and how many friends you have. Who are those people? They are the people you envy and dream to be, while you abandon yourself and your life on the side of the road to ruin. This is the twisted view of a world gone wrong. Drugs, homeless and mental illness are the problem. Now with the scare of a world wide pandemic , nowhere is safe. Fear rules everything around us. It’s hard to be grateful for what you have sometimes isn’t it? The reality of the moment is what we truly have. Are you living a life worth dying for? When did the voice of fear drown out the love? When did the opinions of other matter more than your own? Are you making the dreams of others come true before your very own? Do you care what the world thinks of you? Take sanctuary in the words and wisdom from this collection of outsiders called Rx27. They live and die by their words their loyalty for each other and the song. They know the way back to innocence. They are the shining light in the darkness that will guide you through this sick city of ours. They can’t , won’t and don’t let the world around them dictate their actions. They play by their own rules. To thy own self be true no matter what .
Welcome to sick city is a glimpse into the world they come from and witness on the day to day. Be it the hustle and bustle of NYC , the outdoor free for all in down town Los Angeles. The picturesque beaches of Malibu, the smell of desperation along the ghost town of the sunset strip to the quiet suburban areas of the valley in Southern California. This ain’t the news or a reality show. This is life live from where they live and breathe welcome to their world Welcome to sick city.
Welcome to sick city starts with a mournful piano performed by punk legend turned producer Paul Roessler(The Screamers, Nina Hagen, T.S.O.L, 45 Grave). It’s an overture that leads you into the twin guitar assault from the man of mystery The Dust Warrior and goth punk pioneer Christian Death guitarist Rikk Agnew. The open guitar riff sounds like a bunch gravediggers banging on the bones of the dead. The song intro builds with the haunting scream of the goth punk mistress of mayhem MisMaxine Murrderr. Her scream is akin to a razor blade dragged across the skin of a beauty queen who doesn’t think she is pretty enough. Axl Rose and his gunners would be proud as they welcomed you to their jungle years before. Now Rx27 have given you right of passage to theirs. Ms Murrderr is met with the devil may care too much voice of Rx27’s second vocalist Joie X Blaney. Blaney’s opening line a”buy yourself ticket sneak your way in “ invites you any which you can if you dare to the public execution of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Their lyrics tell you unapologetically who they are and why you better listen. Rx27 are the people they warned you about. Both Maxine and Joie are every mother’s nightmare and every fathers reason to get the shoctgun out of storage.. Strikingly similar in looks, attitude and vocal abilities, they command the chaotic track with grace and ease of a ballet dancer at a hardcore show. You can hear the attitude and rawness of these two dynamic performers. They push each other to the limit as the band lays down the musical back drop that matches the emotions of the lyrics penned by Joie. Lyrics and the musical arrangements are the secret weapon of this band. Words fly out all over the place like bullets from a drive by, as the band takes you through a walking tour of their home town for now. From verse to verse prechorus to prechorus to bridge to coda. How many hooks can one song have? These two singers attack the song. Most bands would pray to have one singer with this much talent . Well Rx27 has two. Ms Murrderr’s voice keeps daring you to dig your own grave as Blaney’s voice gives you the play by play tales of misfortune of the anonymous kid downtown who is found dead. That the streets are red from the slaughter of the innocent or unlucky.. The possibility that anyone who dares may not win. Life is not fair. Who said it ever was/ The dog eat dog days a beautiful Southern California have run amuck.Where the hunter becomes the hunted and victims and villains battle it out on the streets that have stars on the ground and dirt in the sky. This is not your typical predictable punk band. This is full contact poetry with metaphors for days, set to music that either wants you to fight or fuck soy can listen to it over and over again.
These are true life accounts of what this family of misfits have experienced. Live to tell, live to learn and live to teach. The fact of the matter is that Sick City could be any town USA. It’s not only in bright lights of Los Angeles. Look out your window. It’s right in front of your face. Drugs, guns and every flavor of destruction is or coming to your own back yard. The song warns society that they have bitten off more than you can chew. Welcome to Sick City is a goth punk runaway train as bassist Thad Coleman lays the track down as it pulses twists and turns. He supplies the drive to this joyride through the darkest parts of human experience. Rx27 have given you the recipe for survival and the advice to maneuver through the minefield of life. Some may say that welcome to sick city is the hotel California for 2020. Agnew's playing as well as the Dust Warriors and Coleman keep the chaos in control in this beautifully written cautionary tale. Listen closely to the wisdom of the lyrics. These two vocalists have lived the words in this song . They have learned these lessons the hard way. Advising you to use your time wisely and take nothing for granted. Your time left on this planet is best used to get it together or get the hell out of the way. Your life will end one day. Nobody knows what day that will be. The choices you make and the chances you take are digging a grave for someone. Be honest, whose grave are you digging? Choose wisely and choose smart. The good don't die young, only the lucky ones do. The rest of us are here living a life we have made for ourselves. Make it count. Live free or die trying. What is the opposite of life? If you said death you are very wrong. Birth is the opposite of death.. Life is what’s happening now. Once the hourglass runs out of sand it’s game over. The fact is, no one gets out of this world alive. Not even the members of Rx27 or the residents of sick city. So listen closely to these real life prophets of the new age rage. They may be your only hope in a world gone wrong.
Rx27 releases new single Chasing Crazy on January 20 2020
How long is a moment?
How long is forever?
How long is a lifetime?
A lifetime is measured from birth to death.
Forever is an unmeasurable amount of time someone says in the heat of the moment.
Now let’s take a moment to see what Rx27 are up to.
Rx27 are back with a vengeance with the follow up to the critically acclaimed debut single Gasoline. You remember that one? If not we suggest you revisit it. Chasing Crazy is more of a social statement than an anti love song. Love is getting lost in this digital age of social media interaction and the hallmark card sentiment. The quest for love and emotional intimacy has been abandoned for financial security in this seeking arrangement, swipe left and hit the like button. Romance is dead on arrival and the attitude of I will Love you forever until I find someone better mindset is inescapable. Remember forever is the moment you are in or how much you can tolerate. Fuck forever. True love and other fairy tales never end like they do in the movies. Life ain’t a movie but everyone has a camera.
Rx27 punches you right in the face with the opening chords courtesy of bassist Thad R Coleman and guitarist the mysterious Dust Warrior. Which leads us into the gut wrenching opening lines from everyone's favorite misfit Joie X Blaney. He dares you in song to “Rip my heart out from my chest. Hold it up which one is best.” In this day and age where love isn’t a feeling but another four letter word uttered in desperation for a promise or Connection. The only promise of real is made by the rattling death march of Rx27 rolling along like a funeral procession to the insane asylum or to the chapel of love. To hear Blaney talk about relationships go awry would make the biggest sucker for love think twice. Then suddenly when you thought it couldn’t get any darker or more sinister, in comes Rx27’s queen of the damned second vocalist Msmaxine Murrderr. Her voice and attitude slam the sentiments of Blaney’s truth or dare lyrics into your brain with a teasing and taunting fuck forever. The verses are just some verbal foreplay that climax to the big arena rock orgy of a sing along, “Chasing crazy to the edges of insane”. Confessions of a tell tale broken heart asking Who fucked you up? Who ripped away your trust and innocence? You get what they are saying. You know those feelings all too well.. Or you will after one listen. The chorus ends with a one two kick to the groin and then we are off again on the punk rock and rollercoaster ride of they love me they love me not. Keep listening as the song dangles fears of dying alone, the begging to lift the curse or tell me now or never how to escape something they wished for forever. Fuck Forever. You are either the person they are singing about or you have dated them. That insignificant other that knows what you like and you resent that they do. The kind of love that drives you crazy every which way but loose. The one that you can't leave but you can't stay either.. All in the name of the promise to love, honor and perish til death do you part. All this happens in this 2 and a half minute joyride of love gone bad. . This isn’t shock and awe. This is love, sex and death punk rock style. .
Chasing crazy feels like that tragic romance you burn for til this day. The one that got away or wish they would. It is the kind of song that is both a love song, and a break up song rolled into one painfully honest look at relationships in 2020. Its a statement that really nails the sentiment when you are in love you must be insane. Fuck forever. Everything in this life is temporary. Forever is the moment you are in. And the newest single from Rx27 will be in your head for a lifetime. What ever you feel about this song sometimes it better to say fuck forever than to say nothing at all.

The song Gasoline is as much a mystery as the band itself. Dark songs for dark times. “Gasoline” is about raging for the light, hand in hand, with your ride or die. Love is all about risk and reward. Fear over faith. Don't look back and don’t go home. Love, sex, and death never sounded so good..
Who or what is dying? You? Or all of your hopes and dreams? Sometimes life feels like a game of Russian Roulette. One wrong move and it's over, or you have to live with the consequences of your choices. Or the choices of others.
Between the government, the opioid epidemic, social media, and school shootings; it’s better to live like there is no tomorrow. There may not be for some. Pounding bass provided by Thad Coleman, keyboards by producer and punk legend Paul Roessler; like a goth punk version of jaws riding shotgun with the repo man. Drums provided by Melanie Jo kick in like a click of a 21 gun salute. Another day in the death of America.
From the jump, it’s a frantic “do what I want” not “do as you please” attitude and vitriol. First lines, first verse and we are off to the races. Vocalist Joie X Blaney singing or screaming "I don't think much/ About the limits/ I don't want much/ Of what they’re giving”..Sounds like he got fucked over too many times. A couple of bars in, Rx27 lady in waiting who waits for no one Mis Maxine “Murr Derr” joins Joie matching note for note and scream for scream "Tore myself to pieces/ Rip my soul in two." Those words echo like a promise she will never break. By now Rx27 is pushing the musical boundaries to make room for the one and only, Rikk Agnew of Christian Death. I will leave it right there to hang in mid air.
The question is the answer.
The highs and lows of life are all we have.
It’s the journey, not the destination.
The destination is a hole in the ground.
Rx27 will dig it for you, or watch you dig your own.
