Diane & The Deductibles has just released their brand new studio recording of original music titled TWO. The follow-up to their 2013 debut album ONE, TWO finds Diane & The Deductibles writing the next glorious chapter in an already impressive career. Based out of the vast Southern California music scene, Diane & The Deductibles present their own brand of spirited rock and roll in the classic DIY tradition. Their compositions are passionate and profound, instantly memorable and dynamically captivating. Featuring ex-members of such varied collectives as Air Supply and Geoff Tate's Queensryche, Diane & The Deductibles strive for originality and perfection, and their songs contained within TWO demonstrate a band ready to take music fans on an intriguing sonic adventure.
Diane Adams is the driving force behind Diane & The Deductibles, displaying a stunning combination of wisdom and conviction. Diane reels the listener in with emotionally driven lyrics that crash right into the heart of the matter. Comparisons to the vocal greats such as Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson and even Joni Mitchell may abound, but Diane Adams brings her own personal touch to the proceedings, and the results are absolutely fascinating.
Robert Sarzo unleashes his legendary skill and verve to the band, bringing his years of experience and shred in outfits such as Geoff Tate's Queensryche and Hurricane to the highly original Diane & The Deductibles sound. Guitar co-conspirator Keith Lynch is best known for his work as Music Director for the solo work of Black Sabbath legend Bill Ward, and his contributions to the Diane sound are vibrantly inspiring.
Bassist Cliff Rehrig supplies a dynamic low end to the Diane & The Deductibles sound, his exhilarating tenure within the ranks of Air Supply gloriously shining through. And drummer Ronnie Ciago brings it all home with a skilled conviction and flair, whose own varied credits include participating in the likes of Brand X and Riverdogs. TWO is the result of seasoned musicians collaborating together to release something truly inspirational and profound.

DIANE & THE DEDUCTIBLES AT THE ROSE
Jun 2, 2019 | Bands, Diane & The Deductibles, Reviews, Show Reviews
Diane & The Deductibles, The Rose, Pasadena, CA., June 2, 2019
Diane and the Deductibles grab their spotlight with a chokehold. Out of breath from constant cheering, all the crowd can do is absorb their melodies in their entirety. Each song eased into the next in a well-curated mix.
Diane’s mystic voice pounded out tunes from each of their two albums. Her vocal capabilities ignited images of various artists of potential influence. From Joni Mitchell to Led Zeppelin, Diane Adams is the amalgamation of the last fifty years of musical innovation.
Hearing them live is a testament to their constant betterment and experimentation.
“What a Feeling” sounded a bit different from their studio version but every difference was positive. Every head in the room headed towards the end of their song at a trusting rate. It was as if Diane knew how to adapt her music for every crowd.
The sounds of her serenade slipped off instruments dripping in talent for “Light of the Moon.” The song fit The Rose’s atmosphere. Dark and dusty matched with polished vocals. When the music began, the room went silent out of inherent respect for the intricate melodies. Not even a falling pin would dare make a sound. You really could hear a heartbeat “as one.”
Some of their songs had yet to be published, so we were treated to a sneak peek into the creative workings of the group. Every instrument seemed to be showing off the talent holding it. The band is filled to the brim with experience. Cliff Rehrig, for instance, used to play bass for Air Supply. Beside him, guitarist Keith Lynch has been the music director of Bill Ward of Black Sabbath, and their other guitarist, Robert Sarzo, founded Hurricane and was in Geoff Tate’s Queensryche. Behind them, but guiding their sound, Ronnie Ciago was formerly in Riverdogs and boasts a recording history of over 500 songs! Being sandwiched between these heavyweights is not to be taken lightly. And Diane manages it all too well.
Diane is the punch on the fist. Her ability to vocally maneuver through her eclectic set list keeps the show going until its gone. Songs like “Breaking the Chain” and “Tears” may sound similar but together they differ greatly from the live representations of their other masterpieces. It seems to me that the spontaneity espoused to performing live accounts for Diane’s creative flexibility. Definitely go see them when you can. And hear them while you’re at it too. Their new album TWO is out now!

BERLIN and Diane & The Deductibles
Diane & The Deductibles offer a true old school, bluesy rock vibe. Led by vocalist/guitarist, Diane Adams, their sound harkens back to some of the melodic rock bands of the 70’s.
This isn’t a total surprise as the band is comprised of a few veteran rockers. Including Diane’s husband and former Air Supply bassist, Cliff Rehrig; the uber talented lead guitarist and founder of 80’s rock band, Hurricane, Robert Sarzo; Keith Lynch who has worked as a collaborator with Black Sabbath drummer, Bill Ward; and drummer, Ronnie Ciago, who has performed with such artists as, Graham Bonnet, Jaco Pastorius, Gene Simmons and The Riverdogs, to name a few.
Tonight’s support slot acted as a release party for their latest album, “TWO“. Three of their five songs this evening came from the new release, “Sweet Love & Emotion“, “Frontline” and “What A Feeling“. The set was rounded out by two older D&TD songs, “In My Next Breath” and “Say What You Mean“. It was a relatively short set, but one that was sure to leave a lasting impression with everyone in attendance.
Diane & The Deductibles have been opening up for some name bands of late including The Guess Who, The Little River Band, Missing Persons as well as tonight’s headliner, Berlin. There are plenty of opportunities to check them out so be sure to get to a show early and catch them if you see them on the bill. Certainly a band who will be headlining their own shows shortly…

THE GUESS WHO, DIANE & THE DEDUCTIBLES, THE CANYON SANTA CLARITA, OCTOBER 4, 2018
Those who ventured out to the wilds of Santa Clarita on a Thursday night in early October were treated to a concert of historical proportions.
Performing at The Canyon Club were the legendary Sarzo Brothers in two different bands – one opening and the other being the headliner. And interestingly enough, these are a pair of bands you would not normally associate the Sarzo Brothers with.
While Robert Sarzo made a name for himself playing guitar for the likes of Hurricane and Queensryche GT, he now shreds for a dynamic local act called Diane & The Deductibles.
Brother Rudy Sarzo is world famous for his trademark bass playing with iconic metal outfits such as Ozzy Osborne and Quiet Riot. Rudy is now unleashing a thunderous low-end for classic rock sensations The Guess Who.
Many who arrived at the venue were not aware of the significance of this soon to be memorable night, or the exhilarating performances both bands had in store. And what a magical adventure this was about to become…

DIANE & THE DEDUCTIBLES
Opening the show with imagination and flair were Diane & The Deductibles, a female fronted rock collective who absolutely shined in a short yet very persuasive set. Fronted by the radiant vocal and guitar performance of Diane Adams, this five piece outfit warmed up The Canyon Santa Clarita with a memorable selection of grand rocking hits.
In addition to the solidly passionate vocals of Diane Adams and the virtuoso guitar playing of the one and only Robert Sarzo, the band features other supremely top notch players. Guitarist Keith Lynch has played with Bill Ward of Black Sabbath, and brings his expertise into the Diane brigade of talent. And what a rhythm section The Deductibles present upon the world at large, featuring former Air Supply member Cliff Rehrig on bass and the world class Ronnie Ciago on drums.
Rudy Sarzo of The Guess Who
There is a certain glorious irony in having ex-members of Queensryche and Air Supply in the very same band, but this exact factor is what makes the music of Diane & The Deductibles so wondrously captivating. Songs such as Light Of The Moon, In My Next Breath, and Say What You Mean are dazzling and set the imagination in flight.
Presented by pros who know how to put on a tremendous show, Diane & The Deductibles are sure to fascinate all types of music fans looking for a new band to thoroughly enjoy. Be sure to catch Diane & The Deductibles opening for none other than Pat Travers at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills on November 29th.
THE GUESS WHO
Which now brings us to the other Sarzo brother in the house – Rudy – who is now touring the country with a vibrantly rocking version of The Guess Who. Only Garry Peterson remains from the original lineup, but what a thrilling collection of seasoned musicians the original drummer of The Guess Who has assembled! Peterson plays with a commanding amount of skill and conviction, and would often treat the audience to wonderful Guess Who stories in between songs.
Longtime member Leonard Shaw colored in the songs with finesse and intrigue on keyboards, sax and flute. Vocalist / guitarist D# unleashed a slamming performance, bringing The Guess Who selections old and new to an ultra-vivid life that was exciting to witness. Will E. also raged with an epic amount of head banging glee on guitar. And then there was the great Rudy Sarzo, supplying bass amplification that sent the room reverberating.
D# of The Guess Who
Now on tour in support of a brand new album entitled The Future IS What It Used To Be, new songs which enraptured the audience included the anthem-like We Were Young, the impassioned Haunted, and the spiraling refrains presented via In America. There were plenty of classics to be heard, including a rousing rendition of Clap For The Wolfman, with Leonard Shaw standing in as the late great Wolfman Jack.
And towards the end of the set, The Guess Who played a raging, massively heavy version of American Woman, channeling the likes of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple! Included within the very well deserved encore was a kaliedoscopic rendition of These Eyes, immediately followed by the staggering psychedelic adventure in sound known as No Time.
Rest assured, The Guess Who in 2018 is just as crucial and exciting as their glory days back in the 70’s – and their live show is a brilliant, intensive endeavor that is not to be missed! In the meantime, be sure to check out The Future IS What It Used To Be by The Guess Who, now available from Cleopatra Records!
