XrossRoads is the unification of 2 hip-hop luminaries from Queens NY and Detroit MI - coming together for 1 common goal, quality hip-hop music.
In a saturated market full of trap beats, auto tuned vocals, and a lack of authentic subject matter it is refreshing to come across artists who exemplify edgy but musical hip-hop with substantial lyrics.
Enter Baby Paul and Supa Emcee, a credible Grammy Nominated platinum selling hip-hop music producer and a respected battle rap mc with a knack for lyricism and inventive songwriting over an emotional and driven soundscape.
Baby Paul aka BpZy - born in Harlem, raised in Brooklyn and Queens followed his dreams to make music since childhood to eventually make a name for himself as part of the legendary production crew “‘Da Beatminerz”, creating classics for artists - Black Moon, Smif-n-Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, OGC, M.O.P., Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli and others. Later in his career BpZy went on to work with Nas, AZ, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Dj Clue, Consequence, Kanye West, Olivia, Angie Stone and many others.
In 2006, Baby Paul incepted his independent music label Divine Order Ent. aka D.O.E. to produce music for artists of various genres which is currently under E-One Music Distribution.
Having ties in the midwest since the age of 16, BpZy began tapping into the upcoming talent in Michigan which lead him to work with Supa Emcee.
Supa Emcee aka Supe - born and raised in Highland Park, Detroit Supe started his career as a battle mc as a member of the Almighty Dreadnaughtz, which lead to live performances opening up for artist like Dead Prez, Onyx, KRS-One, Rakim, and song collaborations with Eminem’s group, D-12.
In 2005 Supe signed to the late Proof’s label Iron Fist Records before his passing, and was featured among the battle rap scenes in the classic Eminem film “8-Mile”.
In 2012 Supe was featured on the late Jay DiLLa’s compilation “Rebirth of Detroit”, and in 2017 was featured in the “D-Cyphered” hip-hop history exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Together as the group, "XrossRoads" Baby Paul and Supa Emcee's collective talents define the art of beatmaking and mc'ing using hard edged sampled beats combined with live instrumental compositions, intense thought provoking lyrics that are entertaining yet have depth and substance - with featured collaborations by some legendary artists within the genre along with brand new up and coming talent.
Welcome to the XrossRoads - when Queens, New York City meets Detroit, Michigan.
