Scott Honaker

From an early age, Scott Honaker was inspired and surrounded by music. Music was always a part of the family. Growing up in St. Albans, West Virginia, Scott is the youngest of 4 kids. Scott first began singing along with his dad’s guitar playing and singing. Throughout his school days, Scott began singing in the choir at school, and in school plays. A few piano lessons early on would help later on with his piano playing.
Scott picked up the guitar at 13 and with the help of his dad, taught himself how to play. Learning songs from Marty Robbins, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, and Buck Owens all the way to learning songs by bands like Poison, The Beatles, Deep Purple. Scott began honing his singing and playing skills. Scott learned to play drums and percussion while performing in his high school band. Scott also performed in theater productions during his high school years as a vocalist and actor in shows such as “Showboat”, “Richard the III” and Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella”.
Scott joined his first band, Altar Image, at age 19, as lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and keyboard player. After five years, and three CD’s, the band disbanded. Scott began the journey to the next chapter.
While visiting Nashville, a friend’s encouragement to meet with his songwriter friends, started the wheels turning on becoming a songwriter. Scott later co-wrote 3 songs with legendary songwriter Don Goodman, as well as writing with hit songwriter, Becky Hobbs. In November of 2003, Scott recorded his first EP demo CD with the songs “Comin’ Home” and “The Love That Never Returns” to name a few. Six months later, in 2004, Scott and is wife Tara moved from WV to Nashville. Scott has been a regular at many writers’ rounds including ones at the Commodore Lounge, Broken Spoke, Douglas Corner, and the world famous Bluebird Café.
Scott wrote and co-wrote a collection of songs over the next few years that became his debut CD, “Who Made the Road” in 2009. The CD was recorded and produced entirely by Scott at his home in Mt, Juliet, and TN. Scott plays guitars, bass, mandolin, piano, drums, and sings all vocals on the disc.

In 2013, Scott joined a group of friends as part of Weaver Country Band, backing up Florida native and up and coming country artist, Ryan Weaver by playing guitar, keyboards, banjo, and singing background vocals. Scott has been fortunate enough to play many shows with Ryan Weaver including 2014 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, 2013 Tootsies Birthday Bash, and Operation Troop Aid Block Party on Broadway in Downtown Nashville.
Scott has been nominated for the 2015 Song of the Year at the New Country Music Awards in Nashville for his song, “The Love That Never Returns”, and is nominated for the 2015 Indieville TV Award for Guitar Artist of the Year.


Scott's new CD release, "Four On The Floor", became available in early summer 2015 on iTunes and has been featured on Internet radio stations such as Music Road Radio, Countrykanalen Sweden, Renegade Radio Nashville, Hamilton Radio in Australia, and The Country Countdown with Suzy. These great folks have helped share his music all across the globe. Songs like ”Redneck GPS”, “The Way We Roll”, and “Feel It” and just the beginning of the next chapter in Scott’s musical releases as a singer/songwriter/musician.Scott once again is playing all instruments, and singing all vocals on this CD as well.
