Stepping onto the scene with a powerful voice and unique sense of style, Magdalena Quintana, the great-great granddaughter of John Dodge of the Dodge Brother's car empire, has brought a fresh vibe to the pop music world. With a long history, and passion for music, Magdalena has no intentions of looking back now.
Raised in both a small town in the Pacific Northwest, Port Townsend, Washington, and at a small mountain community near Vernon British Columbia, Canada. Magdalena began singing at a very early age, with the influence of her mother and father. Her mother, a long time lover of music and singing, and father, a passionate guitar player, who dabbled in songwriting, surrounded Magdalena with a love for music early on.
Magdalena took part in every school musical, choir, and talent show growing up; singing, dancing, writing her own songs, and playing violin, but it wasn't until she went to college at the Univiersity of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, that she found her first vocal coach. With his help, she recorded her first demo, and in the fall of 2009 she made the big move to Los Angeles on her own. Once in LA, she transferred to another vocal coach, John Henny, with whom she still trains today. From there, she took guitar lessons, attended numeorus songwriting and performance workshops, and performed live gigs around the LA area, at The House of Blues and other major venues.
Through working with other artists, Magdalena was introdcued to her present producer, Tony Rodini. In the summer of 2014, Rodini and Magdalena began work on an 8 track EP, generating such pop hits as "Crush Anyway," "Temporary High," and "Paradise." These songs have been picked up in the UK for national air play in retail stores and restaurants. The EP titled, "The Diary," was released in October, 2014, and is sold worldwide on iTunes, Amazon, and is currently streaming on Spotify. Magdalena has produced three official music videos, two that accompany the EP, which can be found on VEVO. All of the videos were directed and photographed by her trusted director/videographer, Damien Sandoval.
With the current success of her EP, Magdalena continues to perform live shows, while travelling and while at home in Los Angeles.
"I just love playing music," Magdalena concludes. "It's never really mattered whom it's for. As long as the audience is moved by what I've written, then that's all I can ask. Through everything, my goal remains the same: to be able to write songs and perform for the rest of my life."
