Biography

Located in Jacksonville Florida, The 418 Band is proof that talent, determination and hard work still shines in a diverse musical culture. With over a decade of stage and studio experience, we have managed and maintained a loyal fan base that supports in every way. The album, Midnight Caller, was written, arranged, produced and recorded by all of band members.

The band’s Reggae influence stems from artists such as Bob Marley, Third World, Burning Spear, Beres Hammond, Jacob Miller. Other influences in the Soca arena include Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Arrow, Allison Hinds, Burning Flames and the Mighty Sparrow.

The reason for the dynamic energy and sound, is due to the diveristy of where the member come from. We range from four Caribbean islands (Dominica, Jamaica, Antigua and The Bahamas). As a result of this diversity, the band is able to deliver pulsating music for the fans.

One major goal is to make The 418 Band the premier Caribbean entertainment group in Jacksonville.  With the album “Midnight Caller”,  we are making waves in the Jacksonville area and surrounding cities.

The members that make up The 418 Band are singers Andre “Bandit” Bannis and Verol White. Electric bass guitar features Mike Williams. Providing percussion is Leon on drums. Guitarist Desmond Phillips, Keyboardist Courtney have helped define the band’s unique signature sound. With that special formula, the group has propelled into being the hardest hitting Reggae, Zouke and Soca bands in North East  Florida.

418Band has had the opportunity to open for major acts such as Beres Hammond, Shaggy, Fireman Hopper and Luta. For several years, we've been a favorite for our energetic Soca performances at Miami Caribbean carnival, North and South Carolina Caribbean carnival, Moja Arts Festival and Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC.
